Technicote Expands Holographic Polyester Offering with New Seamless Pattern

As the holidays quickly approach us, so does the glamour. Shopping aisles at retail outlets are jam packed with products dressed up in festive fashion to include labels and packaging that scream, “Celebrate”! Bright, shiny, and sparkly wrapped items light up the shelves as thousands of brands fight for the attention of billions of consumers through their marketing efforts. The boring, tiresome look of the “off-season” is now gone and has been replaced with a renewed presence of flash and flare.

There are only a few substrates on the market capable of transforming the drab look of a packaged product into a captivating work of art useful reference. One way of accomplishing this goal is through the use of holographic label materials.

Technicote offers a dynamic collection of pressure sensitive holographic polyester label products in a variety of spectacular patterns. Available in a 2 mil caliper thickness, our most popular patterns include the Rainbow, Sparkles, and Stardust designs, all which are available with your choice of adhesive and liner combination in 10 days or less!

The most recent addition to our holographic product line is our Seamless Rainbow pattern, which is true to its name. Comparable to the familiar Rainbow pattern of our industry, the new Seamless Rainbow product is completely seam-free! This dollar saving feature is a dream for label converters who regularly lose valuable production time and excess label scrap due to a visible seam which repeats through the entire roll of stock.

Our new 2 mil Seamless Rainbow Holographic Polyester available in stock with our TS523 adhesive and 50# SCK liner in a 30″ master web. All other all adhesive/liner combinations can coat and ship in 5-7 business days.

Samples and pricing are immediately available. Please contact your Technicote sales representative for more information.

According to Plant Manager, George Parker, “This achievement was made possible by the commitment of each team member toward working safely each and every day, taking personal responsibility for their own safety, believing that all injuries are preventable, and understanding that safety is a good business practice.”

George and his team have gone above and beyond what is required by OSHA and he realizes that, “It really boils down to caring about our employees, caring about our company, and caring about our customers.”

Technicote Announces Plans to Rebuild Cuyahoga Falls, OH Manufacturing Plant

A Message from Technicote President, Doug O’Connell

Shortly after the tragic fire on Dec. 16th that destroyed the bulk of Technicote’s Cuyahoga Falls, OH plant, the company started evaluating different options to replace the capacity that was lost. The key factors in all the deliberations were how to improve our capabilities and be an even better supplier for our customers.

“After evaluating numerous options in various states and sites, we concluded rebuilding at our current location in Cuyahoga Falls, OH was the best option” stated Doug O’Connell, President of Technicote. “We were anxious to retain our experienced workforce, since they’re one of the keys to producing the unique products we offer. Rebuilding on the same site makes it easiest on our employees. Another factor was that the city of Cuyahoga Falls has been great to work with throughout this process. Finally, we were able to find a builder who can get our facility completed in a reasonably short timeframe.”

Technicote is now going through the approval process with city and county officials. The new manufacturing facility will include totally new state-of-the art adhesive and silicone coaters, new wide web slitters and an improved process flow design throughout the plant.

We expect this new facility to be operational in the 4th quarter of 2012 and to resume the manufacture of many specialty coated pressure sensitive products that other Technicote facilities have been producing for our customers. Our sincere appreciation goes out to our many customers that have been patient with Technicote during this difficult recovery period.

Estate Label #6 White Pearlized Launched on West Coast

Technicote is pleased to announce the launch of its new Technicote Membership Card polypropylene film base, a unique pressure sensitive coupon product designed for direct mail packages that require cards to be affixed to continuous forms or cut sheets. This exciting new product is the optimal solution for all varieties of affixed card applications used for fundraising, clubs, banks, and other membership oriented organizations.

The product consists of two thin layers of polypropylene film bonded together with a specialty dry-release adhesive. The film construction is then coated with Technicote’s TP170 adhesive and 40# SCK release liner. The familiar dry-release adhesive pattern of Technicote’s IRC film base has been incorporated into Technicote Membership Card, but modified to provide a tight release for successful converting and auto-dispense processes. The purpose of the tight release is to help prevent the film layers from separating prematurely. The pattern provides a built-in lift edge on all sides of the film, affording universal release from the form to which it is applied. Technicote Membership provides excellent durability during secondary laser printing processes; keeping the product intact as it becomes exposed to high temperatures during this operation. The product is suitable for flexographic printing, as well as signature compatible. Technicote Membership Card is stocked in Technicote’s Cuyahoga Falls, OH manufacturing plant for quick turnaround.

Technicote Unveils New Digital Product Portfolio

Technicote has expanded our portfolio of digital label products, which are 3-Star Certified to run on HP Indigo presses.

Digital printing technology is revolutionizing the rapidly growing label printing industry. Lower production costs, reduced set-up times, high resolution printing, short to medium run label order flexibility and less impact on the environment are just a few reasons converters are embracing this new technology. Technicote is keeping pace with this demand in the marketplace, growing its qualified digital paper and film substrates for applications such as Wine & Spirits, Specialty Foods,

Nutraceuticals, Health & Beauty, Medical, and Durable Goods.

Technicote has a unique offering in our “Dry Edge” adhesive coating process. It is currently available with most of our digital label products used with HP Indigo digital presses. This 1/8″ adhesive “Dry Edge” on each side of the roll label will significantly reduce the potential for adhesive build up on press. This is an added value option, at no additional cost!

Technicote Launches 2.6 mil Pearl White Polypropylene

In response to customers’ concerns about rising raw material costs, Technicote has developed a “Value Grade” line of polypropylene products to satisfy a variety of prime label applications at an economical price. Although our 2 mil Clear and 2.3 mil White Value Plus BOPP films have been well received by converters throughout the industry, the request for a 2.6 mil Value Grade cavitated film has also been in demand. 2.6 mil Pearl White BOPP features a pearlescent finish, outstanding opacity and excellent stiffness properties for label dispensing. Like our Value Grade films, this product is corona treated for excellent ink adhesion and is recommended with permanent adhesives only. 2.6 mil Pearl White BOPP may be printed using standard methods. Thermal transfer printing is NOT recommended.
