Technicote E-News – Volume 3, Issue 2

Labelexpo Americas 2010 Show Recap

Technicote booth # 1547 enjoyed a steady flow of traffic during LabelExpo Americas 2010, where we featured our new IRC Film Base, Membership Card and several new low cost polypropylene film label products. Buyers were excited about the sales opportunity these new products will create in their local markets. International buyer traffic was extremely strong this year with great interest from our Mexico and Central American business partners to source more business through U.S. roll label suppliers. Looking forward to the 2012 show in Chicago!

Technicote Celebrates National Customer Service Week

Under the leadership of Customer Service Manager, Debbie Stillings, Technicote participated in National Customer Service Week, a five day event celebrated annually during the first full week of October. The International Customer Service Organization (ICSA) launched National Customer Service Week in 1984 as a means of recognizing the value that service professionals provide to their companies.

Each day was filled with enjoyable activities, delicious food and beverages, exciting games, prizes and lots of fun from the entire company.

Technicote’s spectacular Customer Service Team represents over 29 years of combined experience in the Pressure Sensitive Adhesive Roll Label industry. “Technicote understands the needs of its customers and recognizes the importance of tight deadlines, custom slit width requirements, competitive pricing, and in-house lab testing for material identifications,” says Customer Service Manager, Debbie Stillings. “We are able to satisfy a growing number of demands set forth in the PSA industry today, and are very happy to serve our customers. One thing that we all enjoy about the job,” adds Ms. Stillings, “is the fact that we have great customers and each day is a different challenge.”

Dirk DeSanzo Scholarship Fund Continues to Benefit Children of Technicote Employees

Technicote’s late founder and first president, Dirk Desanzo was a man who valued lifelong learning, in both himself and his employees. Throughout his life, he encouraged people to learn, to grow personally and use the knowledge and hard work that they invested to build a great company which is the legacy that all Technicote employees share with Dirk.

In August, 2006, a scholarship fund was established in Dirk’s name to benefit the children of Technicote employees. Since this time, Technicote has named four awardees of the Dirk Desanzo Scholarship Fund, with the most recent award presented in July, 2010.

The Dirk J. Desanzo Scholarship Fund provides for a generous annual tuition award payable upon freshman enrollment in college and will repeat for three successive years if the recipient achieves a mandated level of performance as verified by the college they attend.

The fund has been established with the AKRON COMMUNITY FOUNDATION (ACF) as the administrator. The ACF is responsible for investing, evaluating and selecting successful applicants as well as monitoring and administering the scholarships.
