Technicote Membership Card has the edge when it
comes to affixed card applications |

Technicote has launched
Technicote Membership Card, a unique
pressure sensitive coupon product designed for
direct mail packages that require cards to be
affixed to continuous forms or cut sheets. This
exciting new product is the optimal solution
for all varieties of affixed card applications
used for fundraising, clubs, banks, and other
membership oriented organizations.
The
product consists of two thin layers of polyester
film bonded together with a specialty
dry-release adhesive. The film construction is
then coated with Technicote’s AT333 adhesive and
40# SCK release liner. The familiar dry-release
adhesive pattern of Technicote’s IRC film base
has been incorporated into Technicote Membership
Card, but modified to provide a tight
release for successful converting and
auto-dispense processes. The purpose of the
tight release is to help prevent the film layers
from separating prematurely. The pattern
provides a built-in lift edge on all sides of
the film, affording universal release from the
form to which it is applied. Technicote
Membership provides excellent durability during
secondary laser printing processes, keeping the
product intact as it becomes exposed to high
temperatures during this operation. The product
is suitable for flexographic printing, as well
as signature compatible. Technicote Membership
Card is stocked in Technicote’s Cuyahoga Falls,
OH manufacturing plant for quick turnaround. |

TM-55 Adhesive |

2009 was an exceptional year for Technicote and
its TM-55 microsphere adhesive. Customers
continue to confirm TM-55’s unique
characteristics by maintaining triple digit
sales growth from the previous year. Technicote
wants to remind all of our customers of the
TM-55 adhesive and its capabilities.
TM-55 is a repositionable acrylic adhesive that
is USPS approved for outside envelope
applications. This adhesive is also popular in
many other temporary functions requiring a label
that is repositionable or that require no
residue on a substrate after the label is
removed.

Technicote rattles the PS
industry with Diamondback IRC™
film base |
|
|
Technicote has launched
Diamondback IRC™ film
base, a patterned coupon film providing
outstanding performance to converters who
specialize in Instant Redeemable Coupon
applications.
Diamondback IRC is a dual-layer construction
consisting of two, 75 gauge polypropylene films
bonded together with a specialty dry release
adhesive. The unique, “diamondback” design
provides a smooth and consistent release,
without the zippiness. This highly versatile IRC
film base is coated with an all-temperature,
permanent acrylic adhesive, and has the
capability to adhere to a broad range of
substrates with no adhesive residue concerns,
and eliminates the need for a patterned adhesive
face stock with a finger lift edge.
Diamondback IRC runs at top speeds on automatic
applicators without premature dispensing. The
product is suitable for flexographic printing,
and signature compatible, which makes it ideal
for mail-in rebate or other end use
requirements. Diamondback IRC is available trim
free from Technicote’s Cuyahoga Falls, OH and
Corona, CA manufacturing facilities.

United States Postal Service - Mail Tab

Technicote is pleased to update our customers on
the new United States Postal Service(USPS)
standard changes for mail tabs used in
letter-sized booklets. The USPS updated the
standards in September 2009 for all mail tab
labels. As a leader in the mail tab closure
industry, Technicote wants to inform our
customers of the new changes and solutions we
have available. Here are the essential changes
to the official Postal Service Code 39 CFR Part
111.
“Generally, booklets need three 1 ½ inch tabs
as closures.” “For large or heavier booklets, we
recommend 2 inch paper tabs.”
“Tabs used to seal booklets must not have
perforations.”
“Booklets that do not comply with the new
standards will not be eligible for machinable or
automation letter prices.”

IP400 adhesive was created with the guidance of Technicote’s technical and research
departments. Faced with an industry issue of
wine labels prematurely removing from bottles,
Technicote had to find a solution. After months
of testing, Technicote was the first pressure
sensitive adhesive coater to introduce a unique
solution. The
IP400 adhesive was launched in
2008 and has been the choice of many wine label
printers for all their ice bucket and chilled
wine applications.
